Acting on behalf of utility providers nationwide, we streamline the management of civil engineering and diversionary works across the entire UK, removing the hassle from the process.

WORK PROCEDURE

Plant Inquiry and Protection Management

Our 24/7/365 full-cover Protection Plan comprehensively addresses all aspects of the Diversionary Works Process (Section 84 NRSWA ’91). This encompasses the following tasks:

Plant Inquiries – Functioning as your official Diversionary Works Agents, UK-Line promptly and effectively responds to any C2 inquiries, providing regular updates with figures and responses. If your Plant and apparatus are deemed “Not Affected,” a courteous response will be sent within 10 working days, stating: “Your Utility Is Not Affected.”

In cases where your Plant and apparatus are affected, we meticulously plan, manage, and execute the works following the complete procedure outlined in the NRSWA ’91 Guidelines:

Diversionary Works Procedure (condensed)

We adhere to the statutory rules outlined in the NRSWA 1991:

  • Drawings are dispatched, and Plant Inquiries are made to relevant Utilities (from Local Authority records).
  • Ballpark Costs are submitted for works.
  • Costs are agreed upon and accepted.
  • Payment is received, and the commencement of works is planned.
  • Opportunities for revisiting before the final account at the C9 Stage.
  • Final Account Reconciliation

Throughout each stage, UK-Line ensures the protection of your Utility by negotiating with the enquirer(s) to guarantee the full costs of necessary works, whether involving relocation by slewing, lowering, and/or a complete network fiber outage.

Warranty Assurance

Allow UK-Line to alleviate the concerns and uncertainties regarding the integrity of your track and apparatus, freeing you to focus on your primary business of serving your customers!

We conduct thorough quality checks on your track, plant, and apparatus at critical junctures, ensuring you derive maximum benefits from warranties and guarantees provided by your Contractors. Our service includes regular site visits to assess and test the quality of your reinstatements, core-testing (where necessary) to validate your track’s integrity, inspections to evaluate the standard of your ironwork (frames, covers, etc.), and, crucially, the “22-month” check of your typically 24-month track guarantee.

This ensures that any issues identified are communicated back to the Contractor within the guarantee period, prompting resolution at their expense!

Local Authorities Collaboration

We will proactively establish contact with any Local Authority across the UK. On an ongoing basis, we will schedule and participate in meetings to discuss any planned or proposed works in the vicinity of your plant and apparatus, ensuring the continuous integrity of your network. This includes essential communication with Highways and/or other Operators.

As-Built Quality Verification Service

Scheduled routine maintenance visits, based on an agreed plant basis, will be conducted to assess progress, identify potential issues, and provide timely and effective reporting.

Remote Repeater Site Maintenance

We offer comprehensive Site Maintenance services nationwide, conducting thorough checks on various aspects to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of your services.

This includes, but is not limited to, examinations of Security/Gates, Buildings, Fences, Walls, Equipment Storage (Emergency Cable Drums, Electronics), Meter Readings, and Grassed Landscaped Areas.
